Conducta (Behavior). (Cuba)  Ernesto Daranas, 1hr. 48 min (Cuba’s submission to the Oscars, 2015)
Cuba’s entry to the Oscars, Conducta is the story of a dedicated older teacher’s struggles to keep a tough slum lad (Chala) from disappearing into the official channels earmarked for those kids with chronic bad “behavior.” Chala (Armando Valdés Friere), is a young man with a difficult life. Only12 years old, he supports his addict mother by breeding pigeons and fighting dogs. These activities leave him with little time for his studies. If not for the efforts of his devoted teacher Carmela (Alina Rodriguez), Chala would have dropped out of school long ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4wDlBRjE7s
