• “Probably the most important piece of political theater of the last decade…” - The New York Times
• “Spellbinding, funny, and almost unbearably moving . . . it is both a work of art and an incisive piece of cultural history, a poem and a polemic, a performance and a balm and a benediction." "Variety
V-Day is a global activist movement to stop violence against women and girls. Further information about V-Day can be found at:
Twitter - @VDAY
V-Day SCSU is sponsored locally by SCSU Women’s & Gender Studies Program and Triota, the National Honors Society for Women’s Studies
The 64 Days of Nonviolence officially begins each year on January 30, the day Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated, and ends on April 4, the day we commemorate Dr. King. In our sixteenth annual observation of the 64 Days at Southern Connecticut State University, we continue to celebrate the peace and justice heritage in many of our cultures and heritages, including our observation of Black History Month, Women’s History Month, and Asian/Pacific Heritage Month.
