Faulkner's Island Community Service Day
Faulkner's Island is an important bird sanctuary in Long Island Sound, located near the Guilford shore. The island is the home to many seabirds, including endangered roseate terns. We'll spend the day assisting the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service clearing trails, preparing nest boxes for spring migration, and removing invasive plants. At lunchtime we can climb to the top of Faulkner's lighthouse and enjoy views of Long Island Sound.
Faculty, staff, and students welcome!
Transportation provided. Meet at the front entrance to Engleman at 8 a.m. and board campus van to the Guilford town dock. Van returns to campus at approximately 5 p.m.
