Adanti Student Center - Theater

In this thought-provoking documentary, scholars, activists, and politicians analyze the criminalization of African Americans and the U.S. prison boom. Come watch and discuss the critically acclaimed and most talked about documentary film, 13th, directed by Ava Duverney. Her documentary takes the 13th Amendment and aims to expose its "loophole" that subtly states that slavery can indeed exist if a person is presumed to be a criminal.

Following the screening, Dr. Siobhan Carter-David, Professor of History will lead a discussion.
