Southern Connecticut State University

See the Homecoming 2017 website for the complete schedule of events.

To bring the SCSU community together in the Owl spirit and to generate a really spirited football atmosphere, the Homecoming Committee has revamped the day.  Here's what to expect this year:

Tailgating!  For the first time, we will have a Designated Tailgate Area. This will be in Lot 9 (Farnham Avenue) where you will be able to bring your gas grills, food and beverages to celebrate before the game, between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.  All are welcome!  Tailgating Regulations

Student Homecoming Parade with a "TV" theme will begin in the tailgate area in Lot 9 and move up Farnham Avenue to the viewing stand in front of Moore Field House.

Tented area on scoreboard side of the field opens at 2:00 p.m.

No admission fee to the game or tent area!  You will be able to pay for your food and beverages at the....

Food Truck Festival! We will be announcing food truck participants as well as price lists as we get closer to Homecoming.  Approximately 12 food trucks with a variety of foods, beverages, desserts. All will take credit/debit cards.

True Blue Owls Tent. You will be able to make your donation to Southern at the True Blue Owls tent near the Food Truck Festival. Gifts of $25 or more for those who graduated more than five years ago and gifts of $10 or more for those new alumni, graduating less than five years ago, will entitle you to Membership in the SCSU Alumni Association.

Two enormous tents next to Food Truck Festival with plenty of tables and chairs, where all of the Southern Connecticut State University community, including alumni, students, families, friends, faculty, staff, and even the opposing team's fans, will be welcome to enjoy their food, beverages and the game.

Activities for the kids in the Kidz Korner including a giant inflatable slide!

Wrist-bands (free) will be available in a tent just outside the entrance to the field for those over 21.  No one may drink without a wristband.

Beer and wine tickets maybe purchased in the small tent in front of the Food Truck Festival for all wrist-banded individuals.  Beer and wine will be served in the large tents.

SCSU vs Merrimack College Game begins at 3:00 p.m.  Go Owls!

SCSU Corn Hole Game at the tent area -- set up your teams now! Thanks to Chris Borajkiewiz, '98, president of the Alumni Association, for building the corn hole game!

The New Haven Symphony will be performing a concert version of the Broadway smash, Guys and Dolls, featuring lead singers from the Broadway boards and Southern's own SCSU Choir as the ensemble. Friday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m, SCSU's Lyman Center for the Performing Arts. Call NHSO box office for tickets. Mention you're a Southern grad and receive your alumni discount.
