Dr. Robin Leichenko, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J.
"Barriers, Limits and Limitations to Resilience: The Case for Transformation in Urban Coastal Regions"

A former Fullbright scholar to Norway, Dr. Leichenko has published more than 60 journal articles and book chapters, and is co-author of two books. Her book, Environmental Change and Globalization: Double Exposures (with Karen O'Brien, Exford University Press, 2008), was awarded the 2009 Meridian Book Award for Outstanding Scholarly Work in Geography from the Association of American Geographers.


Bren Smith, Executive Director and CEO, Green Wave, New Haven, Conn.
"Restorative 3D Ocean Farming in Long island Sound"

A lifelong commercial fisherman and owner of Thimble Island Ocean Farm, Bren Smith is the pioneer of restorative 3D ocean farming. He will present his work related to the Project Green Wave, winner of the 2015 Buckminster Fuller Challenge and the 2017 Sustania Award.


This presentation is open to students, faculty, staff, and the community.
